Nikon D850 - Low Light Filming Part 2

The last post for this year and what a one! Part two of our low light filming with the Nikon D850. New footage we filmed in three days or better said in three evenings and all was recorded with an Atomos Ninja Flame. The material was recorded in 24 fps in UHD (3840 x 2160). We used a DJI Ronin for the slides. Recorded in ProRes HQ, edited and graded in DaVinci Resolve Studio. Noise reduction was applied on one scene at 1:08.

Lenses: Nikkor 50 mm f/1.4G, Nikkor 35 mm f/1.4G, Nikkor 24-70 mm f/2.8E ED VR

Camera Setings: ISO range is from 1600 to 10000 at an exposure time of 1/50 of a second.

The D850 has such a great performance, but unfortunately no extensive video settings not to mention a N-Log. But all in all we are satisfied with the performance.

Take care and we'll see you next year!

 Nikon 35 mm f/1.4G Review

The exotic 35 mm f/1.4G prime lens from Nikon is a self given christmas gift for this year. A very interesting focal length in my opinion: not to wide and not to close with a wide open aperture for low light conditions. How this prime lens performs, which was released in 2010 and what you get for your money can you read in this review.

Landscape Jewels - South Tyrol

Let the year end with a wonderful video: The beautiful Dolomites of South Tyrol in autumn in North Italy. Six days with best weather, slways sun and no clouds, perhaps not the best weather for photography but nice to relax and to enjoy this region. Wonderful tones of orange could I capture and of course the Tre Cime (Drei Zinnen) must not be missing. Click and enjoy.

How to get a flawless Water Surface in Photoshop

Easy and fast tutorial for a flawless water surface. I always was annoyed by leaves, flowers and all this botanical stuff which swims on the water surface and is disturbing the impression of the view. For this solution I'm also using the Dust & Scratches filter in Photoshop, which does a very good job to get rid of the unwanted elements.
