A quick and short review about the collar replacement for the Nikkor 70-200 f/2.8E FL ED VR from Really Right Stuff the LCF-11. This collar replacement makes it much easier to handle the 70-200 when you mount it on a tripod.

Nikon AF-S Nikkor 35 mm f/1.4G Review & Unboxing

The year starts with a video review of the Nikkor 35 f/1.4G. Many sample photos and filming snippets from our latest low light filming project. This lens delivers superb crisp and contrasty shots out of the cam, tested with the Nikon D850 and D750. With it's open aperture of 1.4 it offers a wonderful bokeh at a wide angle.

At first of all our placement at the My Rode Reel 2018 competition as one of the finalists for best drama. Then we visited so many beautiful places like Iceland, East Tyrol and the Dolomites. A very successful year is behind us, so we are very much looking forward to what awaits us. The year 2019 can start!

Nikon D850 - Low Light Filming Part 2

The last post for this year and what a one! Part two of our low light filming with the Nikon D850. New footage we filmed in three days or better said in three evenings and all was recorded with an Atomos Ninja Flame. The material was recorded in 24 fps in UHD (3840 x 2160). We used a DJI Ronin for the slides. Recorded in ProRes HQ, edited and graded in DaVinci Resolve Studio. Noise reduction was applied on one scene at 1:08.

Lenses: Nikkor 50 mm f/1.4G, Nikkor 35 mm f/1.4G, Nikkor 24-70 mm f/2.8E ED VR

Camera Setings: ISO range is from 1600 to 10000 at an exposure time of 1/50 of a second.

The D850 has such a great performance, but unfortunately no extensive video settings not to mention a N-Log. But all in all we are satisfied with the performance.

Take care and we'll see you next year!
